How to Setup Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) for Microsoft 365 Services

The following instructions will walk you through the process needed to setup Multi-Factor Authentication, otherwise known as MFA. Securing your Microsoft 365 account with MFA services is a simple and highly-effective way to protect your account and data. For more information on the benefits of MFA security, visit our blog.

Step-by-step instructions:

  1. On your computer, visit https://aka.ms/mfasetup 
  2. Sign in using your company-issued email address, and click Next.

  3. Enter password, and click Sign in.

  4. Click Next to begin the security verification questionnaire.

  5. Select these options shown in the image below, and click Next.
    ⚠ Make sure to provide your Mobile Phone Number, so you can receive the SMS Text Message for verification.

  6. You will receive a SMS Text Message with a 6-Digit Code on the phone number you provided.
    Enter that 6-Digit Code into your computer as shown below, and click Verify.

  7. MFA setup is complete when "Verification successful!" appears where you entered the 6-Digit Code on your computer.
